CAR FEATURE: Nissan GT-R, Price Gouging on Another Level

After teasing the United States market with rumors of a stateside release of the newest version of the legendary Nissan GT-R Skyline, it was finally confirmed approximately 24 months ago that the USA would receive Skylines. With such an incredible demand for the highly anticipated supercar, dealer mark-ups were considered an inevitability. No one though was prepared for what we are now seeing in the market. Dealers are adding tens of thousands of dollars to the base price of $69,850!

Within only 6,000 Skylines to be produced this year for the world market outside of Japan, quantities are scarce. Everything from, auctions going to the highest bidder, to dealer mark-ups of up to $60,000 over sticker, are expected according to Exhaustnote.com. The sad part is that Nissan has no legal control over the amount of money the dealers charge in the end for the Skyline. What does this all add up to? It seems like unless you are personally connected to the President of Nissan, you are going to have to sell your right and your left arm to get into a Skyline any time soon.
